Coney Hill provides family housing, much of which has been modernised or built within the past 10 years. There are also bungalows for older persons as well as non-family accommodation in two-storey blocks.
Gloucestershire Housing Association have family houses, and the Licensed Victuallers National Homes manage a small complex of one bedroomed bungalows for older persons located off Coney Hill Road. Bromford Housing Association have a modern development of social housing at Nutcroft, off Westlodge Drive
Coney Hill allows easy access to primary and senior schools and churches. Tenants can use the help and advice centre set up by the Coney Hill Neighbourhood Project, which also works closely with the Echoes Youth Centre, providing computer training for local people. There are also shops, a post office, an active Tenants' Association as well as a more extensive range of shops at nearby Abbeydale.
