Changes in Circumstances

You must tell the Local Authority, Benefits Service immediately if there is a change in  the circumstances of anyone on your claim,  as it may affect your benefit.

Examples are:

change of address, 

an increase/decrease in capital,

a baby is born,

a dependant leaves full time education,

changes to a non-dependant (people who live with you),

if anyone comes to live with you or leaves,

an increase/decrease in income,

changes in working hours,

change of job,

changes to Tax Credits or any other benefits,

changes to your tenancy.

This list is not exhaustive. If you are unsure, notify us anyway.

You can do this online or by phone .

I wish to inform you of a change of circumstances by:

Changes in circumstances may result in you losing benefit or you having to repay overpaid benefit.

If you tell us about your change in circumstances quickly we can review your entitlement.  This ensures you receive increased payments without unnecessary delays.

If your entitlement is reduced informing us quickly will prevent or reduce any overpayment.
