Unfortunately it’s not possible to prevent flooding entirely, but we can act to minimise the frequency and severity of flooding.
Flood Warnings
The Environment Agency monitors river levels and predicted weather and is responsible for issuing flood warnings. The flood warning section of their website is updated every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day.

Severe Weather Warnings
Weather Warnings for exceptionally heavy rainfall or other severe weather are issued by the Meteorological Office.
