KINGSHOLM
Kingsholm has newly built and pre-war modernised family housing, post-war non-family flats and sheltered accommodation for elderly people. Oxbode Housing Association manage approximately fifty family houses as well as bungalows for the elderly and families with mobility problems in the Deans Way area. Clapham Court is the only tower block in Gloucester and offers full warden cover for elderly people. There are lifts to all 10 floors with residents' laundry and communal rooms on the ground floor. There is a primary school with an adjacent large playing field and children's play area. The YMCA provide social and recreational activities and shopping facilities are available on nearby Kingsholm Road, Alvin Street and London Road.
