The licensing team under the Licensing Enforcement Manager is responsible for the granting and renewing of licences and registrations in the following fields.
The team also undertakes compliance testing and enforcement, including out of hours working.
The Team works closely with the other Environmental Health teams, the Police, the Fire and Rescue Service and other statutory agencies.
Policies and procedures are under constant review and are updated and improved to encompass the changing requirements of the trade, the public and Central Government.
The responsible body of elected members in the City Council is The Licensing and Enforcement Committee and the responsible Portfolio Holder is the Cabinet Member for Housing and Health.
