Designing Safer Places SPD

This Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) outlines the Council's planning policy approach to designing safer places in Gloucester.  It forms part of the emerging Local Development Framework (LDF) for the City.

The SPD has been subject to two periods of public consultation, and in both cases has been revised to take into account the responses received.  The SPD has now been adopted by the Council as 'Interim Supplementary Policy' for the purposes of Development Control, and will be formally adopted as part of the LDF alongside its 'parent' Development Plan Document (DPD), with any further, necessary amendments made at that stage.

FORMAL CONSULTATION

The Revised Draft Designing Safer Places SPD was subject to a six-week period of formal consultation between 1 October and12 November 2007, under Regulation 17 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004.  We are currently in the process of drawing up a schedule of all responses received, and this should be available shortly.

INFORMAL CONSULTATION

The Draft Designing Safer Places SPD was subject to a six-week period of informal consultation between 7 August and 18 September 2006.  Comments received during this consultation were taken into account during the redrafting of the document.
