The evidence you will need to show us when you apply

When you apply for a concessionary travel card you will need to show us some form of documentary evidence confirming that you qualify. Items that are accepted by the Council as valid evidence include the following:

Persons over 60 years of age:

Evidence of your age:

  • Birth certificate
  • Driving licence
  • Passport
  • Medical card
  • Marriage certificate
  • Prescription (if showing date of birth - d.o.b.)
  • Letter confirming entitlement to free TV licence
  • Other official document confirming age

Disabled persons:

Documentary evidence that you are in receipt of one of the following:

  • Disability Living Allowance at the Higher Rate for Mobility Component
  • Attendance Allowance at the Higher Rate
  • War Mobility Supplement

If you are disabled but not in receipt of any of the above, you may still qualify for a concessionary bus pass. Please telephone 01452 396396 for advice.

Companions of disabled persons

Evidence confirming requirement to accompany the disabled person:

  • Letter from doctor, consultant or other qualified medical staff
  • Other official medical documentation
