Workshops and Classes

Don't just sit there and soak up the music, dance, theatre, comedy, painting and other art forms that we present you with at the Guildhall; come and learn how to do stuff yourself! Most of our classes are aimed at total beginners and they're a lot of fun. Some of them sell out, others are cancelled if not enough people sign up, so always buy your ticket well in advance even if you've been coming to the same weekly class for ages.

Our next term starts at the end of January 2009.

Some of our workshops and classes run on a termly course basis, some of them run on a weekly drop in basis. We also run occasional one-off workshops throughout the year. You'll find more information about the various classes via the links below.

If you've any suggestions for a workshop or class that you'd like to attend, please contact Pat Roberts on 01452 396385 or click here to email her|.

If you want to buy tickets, please call 01452 503050.

Tickets for most workshops and classes at the Guildhall may be purchased from Gloucester Events on 01452 503050, or in person from the Guildhall Box Office in Eastgate Street or the Tourist Information Centre in Southgate Street. Please note that the box office at the Guildhall is open from 9.15am until 5pm from Monday to Friday and from 10.30am until 3pm on Saturday. It is open from 6.30pm on the evening of performances. Queries may also be emailed to our box office by clicking here|. Tickets for workshops cannot be purchased online.

We strongly advise customers to book tickets in advance for our workshops and classes. Some classes sell out in advance, others have a minimum number of participants that the tutor requires to run the class. The tutors reserve the right to cancel a class if there aren't sufficient students enrolled in advance of the start date.

We have shown in our listings which rooms each class should be taking place in. It may occasionally be necessary to relocate classes to other rooms in the Guildhall, or to another building in the city. We will indicate which room the class is taking place in on the blackboard at the top of the main staircase, and will give at least one weeks notice if we have to move a class to another building.

If you're in a wheelchair and the class you want to do isn't shown as wheelchair accessible, call Pat Roberts on 01452 396385 or click here to send her an email| to find out if a room swap is possible. If we can accommodate customers in wheelchairs we will.

If you would like to suggest a class, or would like to comment about our workshops and classes programme, or require further information about any part of it, please contact Pat Roberts, our Visual Arts and Media Development Officer, on 01452 396385 or click here to send her an email|
