Tim Clark

Saturday nights were made for comedy, and they don't come any funnier than the Big Laugh Cafe, Gloucester Guildhall's lively and laugh-out-loud monthly club! For April's show we welcome top acts Suzi Ruffell, Danny Ward and headliner Tim Clark, plus table seating, hot food, drinks offers and an eclectic disco to round the night off in style.

Headline act Tim Clark is something of a comedy club legend, having performed over two hundred shows each year for almost every year of his adult life (it's fair to say you're in experienced comic hands!). He has appeared all over Europe, the Far East, the Middle East, and most recently at the Mumbai Comedy Store. On TV he was host of the classic game show Give Us A Clue on BBC1 as well as scores of appearances on various stand-up and panel shows.

He has written three highly acclaimed shows for the Edinburgh Festival: a Radio 4 Play, Talking to Ted, which featured himself and Les Dennis in lead roles, and a play about two football fans for Channel 4 called The Beautiful Game. As an actor he had a leading role in the Fringe First winning production of What I Heard About Iraq. Tim is also in demand as a speechwriter, and has written for (amongst others) football manager Graham Taylor and former Prime Minister Gordon Brown. And if he can help those two get laughs, the man must be hilarious!

He'll be joined by Danny Ward, whose chummy and orginal observational stand-up is winning over hordes of new fans on a weekly basis, and Suzi Rufell, whose all-too-familiar tales of social ineptitude, overbearing parents and stories of desperately trying to fit in are sure to hit the mark with all who listen. She does a fine line in banter, too, so be ready to chat to the comedian!

Laughing, dancing, eating, drinking; what's not to like?
