The second year Fine Art: Painting and Drawing students from the University of Gloucestershire are proud to present a select example of their studio work in this exhibition entitled ‘flux’. As a group their work attempts to blur the lines that ‘define’ typical painting and sculpture styles and so the work produced is difficult to put in a strict category, as everyone involved works in their own unique style. The majority, if not all, of this work is conceptually based which is something highly encouraged on the degree course that they participate in.
For the purpose of this exhibition a lot of the artwork exists as photography: attempting to portray how the artwork should look in a three dimensional form, in a different location.
The students involved come from all areas of the UK, with different backgrounds, and this is apparent in their work. A lot of the students have come from A-Level Art and Art Foundation courses, but none are really sure of the journey ahead of them.
