Victorian Loan Box 3
Key Ideas:
What was life at home like for people living in Victorian Gloucester?
How are the things used in homes in the past different to what we have in our homes today?
This loans box contains a rich selection of genuine Victorian domestic items to help you bring a Victorian home into your classroom. The objects will help you explore life in a Victorian home in detail and provide evidence for pupils to compare their home lives and routines against those of children over 150 years before them. The objects themselves also provide clues about Victorian society and lives. So whether you are taking your home corner back in time, or exploring what chores used to be done in a household, this box will prove invaluable.
All of the objects in this box can be handled by pupils. Handling notes and information about all the objects are included in the box, along with ideas about the box can be used effectively in the classroom to support and inspire learning.
