Admission Prices

Recently, we have entered very different and challenging financial times where all councils are having to look hard at covering costs of discretionary services. We are in the process of redeveloping the Museums Service with significant investment going into the improvement of both sites, through council funding and a lottery grant. After thorough customer consultation and bench marking against other museums a modest entrance fee has been introduced from April 1st 2011 along with membership schemes for regular visitors. One ticket will allow entry into both Museums and we have kept the entry charges as low as possible to encourage as many visitors as possible to visit the Museums.  Don’t forget entry into the new Folk Boutique and Tea Rooms along with Café Nerva at the City Museum will still be completely free of charge.
