Gloucester City Museum was officially opened by Phil Harding from the much loved TV series Time Team.
The ceremony took place at 2.45pm in front of a huge crowd and the Gloucester Day parade which stopped outside the museum to celebrate this auspicious occasion
Phil said to locals
"Worship your museum, it is there for you, made for you and not every city has such a fine resource to use. A museum is not just about the objects within it. It is about the people that use it and love it so go through those doors and enjoy Gloucester"
