Domestic Household Refuse

Every household in Gloucester is entitled to have a black wheeled bin for waste that cannot be reused or recycled.  However, if you have storage issues, then ring 01452 396396 or email: recycling@gloucester.gov.uk|

You can take your residual waste to the Household Recycling Centre|, Hempsted, Off Hempsted Lane, Gloucester.   The centre does not have its own post code, however for SATNAV use, GL2 5FR will take you.

Contact the Recycling Team if:

You have recently moved to a brand new property

     Do you need a refuse bin and recycling box?  Order a bin or box|  by email or ring us on: 01452 396396 

Your bin has got lost or damaged

     Do you need a replacement bin?  Email|  our Recycling team for a replacement or ring us on 01452 396396

You need assistance

     If you are unable to get your bin or box to the edge of your property and need assistance,
     email|  or ring us on 01452 396396  and we can arrange for a doorstep collection for you.

Your bin has not been emptied

    Gloucester City Council has a closed bin lid policy for refuse bins, so your bin should be presented
    for collection, by 7 am, with the lid closed.  

    Any additional bags left next to the bin will not be taken by the refuse crew.

    You should ensure there is only domestic waste in your bin, for example, no DIY items, soil, rubble etc.
