Thank you for visiting the Gloucester City Council website.
Navigation
The site has been designed to make it easy to find your way around. The home page shows the main areas of the website - laid out on nine large buttons. If you click on any of these buttons you will go directly to the next layer of the site. As you move down through each layer of information your progress will be displayed with the highlighted name of the page you are on at the top of the page window. You can use this to retrace your steps or use
the Home| button on the main menu to take you back to the home page.
At the bottom of each page there may also be links to take you to external sites or specific contact information. Where applicable we have also included Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to help answer some of the regular questions people raise.
We have also provided a site map and a search facility to assist you in finding the information you may be looking for. Just click on the button bar at the side of the page at anytime to take you to either of these facilities.
Viewing the website
We recommend that you view the site with your screen resolution set to at least 1024x768 pixels to give greater page depth.
Searching the Site
The search facility| on the main button bar enables you to type in the words you wish to search for on the whole site. Just place your cursor in the search bar and type the word that best describes the information you wish to view. We have tried to use simple terms and phrases to describe what is contained in our pages to make it easy for everyone to access the information. If you can nott find what you are looking for please let us know by using the contact us| feature on the site.
On some pages you may also find a search option which just searches in a particular section (for example, Accommodation) just use this in the same way as the main search facility.
Another feature incorporated on the site is the Ask GlosInfo button. This enables you to search for information not only on this site but also within sites across a network of local government and council sites within Gloucestershire.
If you are just searching for information on council services you can either search the A-Z of services. This provides a long list of telephone numbers of all the services provided by Gloucester City Council. Alternatively you can look at the pages within Your Council, under Council Services| for more detailed information.
If using the internet is completely new to you and you need more help then visit BBC Webwise. This site will help you gain some basic skills and knowledge about the internet.
