If you are a Gloucester City Homes tenant your Housing Benefit is automatically credited to your rent account.
If you are not a Gloucester City Homes tenant and are awarded Housing Benefit there is a choice about where the money is paid. It can be paid
-
straight into a bank, building society, GIRO account or National Savings Bank account
-
direct to your landlord (unless you are paid under the Local Housing Allowance rules)
We recommend that you get your benefit paid direct into an account because
-
it is safe and secure
-
it is convenient - you decide when and how much you want to withdraw
-
using an account may help you to save
-
from some accounts you could have regular bills paid
-
you can get your money out from many different places.
The account can be
-
in your name
-
in both the names of yourself and your partner
-
in both the names of yourself and a person acting on your behalf.
