Alternatively, we can send you claim form| or you can download a claim form| and return it to us either by post to Herbert Warehouse, The Docks, Gloucester or by visiting our counter team at the same address.
(We are experiencing high volumes of people visiting our counter, at the present time. Our quieter times tend to be mid-week before 10am . If you visit us during our quieter time you are likely to have a shorter wait.)
The way you claim may affect the date we start paying you Housing Benefit and Council Tax Rebate from.
If you are not making a claim for income support or Jobseeker's Allowance your claim for Housing Benefit or Council Tax Rebate can only be considered once you have made a claim direct to us at Gloucester City Council.
If you are applying for Income Support (IS), Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA) or Employment & Support Allowance (ESA) we may be able to use the 'start date' of your entitlement to IS, JSA or ESA to work out the 'start date' of your Housing Benefit or Council Tax Rebate claim. Please ensure when applying for ISA, JSA or ESA that you complete the Housing Benefit and Council Tax Rebate forms that accompany the claim form. Return them as soon as possible to the Benefits Agency to prevent any loss of benefit.
