Gloucester City Council Business Grants

Gloucester Means Business Grant Scheme|

A 50% rent grant towards your first years basic rent on premises within the City of Gloucester for new businesses, which have either moved into their property in the Gloucester within the last 6 months or are taking up a vacant unit in the city.

The maximum grant available is £3,000 per business for occupiers of ground floor premises within the Primary Retail Area and up to a maximum of £1,000 per business for upper floor occupiers of premises in the Primary Retail Area and for other businesses citywide. a. business start-up grants

A 50% rent grant towards your first year’s basic rent on commercial premises within the City of Gloucester for new businesses, which have either moved into their property in Gloucester within the last 6 months or are taking up a vacant unit in the city.

The scheme will provide a 50% rent grant towards the first year basic rent for the following categories:

A maximum of £2,500 per business for businesses occupying or proposing to occupy ground floor premises within the Primary Retail Area

A maximum of £1,000 for those occupying or proposing to occupy non-ground floor premises within the Primary Retail Area

A maximum of £1,000 per business for citywide businesses occupying or proposing to occupy premises outside of the Primary Retail Area

A maximum of £1,000 per business for those who have signed a minimum 12 month license (with no break clause) wherever in the city the business premises are located

b. business information and support grants

A £100 grant for Business Information and Support. The grant is available for businesses based in the in the City of Gloucester that have been established for between 1 and 5 years.

The grant will reimburse applicants the sum of up to £100 for business information and support. This must be from a recognised provider of the applicant’s choice, and the City Council will provide the applicant with a list of potential providers.

The grant will be paid upon provision of evidence (in the form of receipted invoices from the relevant provider) showing the business has spent £100 or more on qualifying business information and support.
