Hempsted Meadows Car Boot and Market

       

At Hempsted Meadows, every Wednesday and Sunday, Gloucester City Council runs a Car Boot Sale in conjunction with the Open Retail Markets.

There is no need to book a pitch in advance for the car boot, simply turn up and you will directed to a space.

Standard regulations apply whereby:

• Only second hand goods are sold.
• No new goods including redundant stock, catalogue returns, end of lines or surplus stock to be sold.
• Not to permit the sale of counterfeit, stolen goods or laser pens. Not to bring on site firearms whether replica, commissioned or decommissioned. Not to bring on site combat knives, or swords of any description.
• Not to permit any van or lorry exceeding 35cwt in weight, any ice cream van, any general purpose catering van or permit any market trader to sell commercially prepared food.

  APPLICATION TO HOLD A CAR BOOT SALE OR OCCASIONAL MARKET

  A charter of King Edward 1 dated October 24^th 1302, granted the rights to hold a market in the town. To run a car boot sale or occasional market within a radius of 6.2/3 miles of Gloucester Cross you need to gain permission from Gloucester City Council
