We offer a bulky domestic waste collection service for the removal of large household items, from outside your home. The service includes the removal of fridges and/or freezers.
These items are then sorted and where possible, recycled (e.g., fridges, freezers and televisions). Non recyclable waste is landfilled.
-
Each household in the city can have up to 3 items removed, for a charge of £24 (additional items £8).
-
Concessions are available for those on Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit for a charge of £12 (additional items £4). If you are applying for a concessionary rate you may be asked to provide evidence of eligibility.
-
We can only remove the type of items which you would take with you if you were moving house. To arrange a collection, please ring us on 01452 396396.
-
We cannot take fixtures and fittings, for example kitchen units, doors or fitted wardrobes. This service also does not cover garden rubbish, DIY items and bathroom fittings.
-
Removal of these items can be arranged at an extra cost by telephoning 01452 396396
There are also a number of charitable organisations (furniture reuse projects) across the city that take bulky household items that are in good condition and conforming to fire regulations. These organisations are:
