Garden Waste Bin Problems

What if I am disabled or elderly and I can't manage the bin?

The City Council offer an assisted collection service for residents who are disabled or frail. Contact us to arrange an assisted collection  and an officer will visit you to arrange a suitable location.

I have a very large garden, can I have another garden waste bin?

Contact us if you need an additional bin, and we will consider your request. The charge is £36 per annum per bin.

What do I do if my garden waste bin is lost or stolen?

Contact us if your bin is lost or stolen. Please note that there will be a charge to replace the bin. Personalising your garden bin, for instance with your house number, will help to identify it should it get moved.

We will replace lost or stolen bin stickers at once - free of charge. Contact us to request a replacement sticker.

What should I do if I do not have room to store a garden waste bin?

You could consider sharing a garden waste bin with your neighbour or using a home composter.

I don't need such a large bin, can I share one with my neighbour?

Yes, as long as we can empty the bin from the same property each fortnight and payment is taken for that one property.

How do I return my garden waste bin?

Please keep your garden waste bin in case you change your mind.  If you still think you're not going to use your bin, we can arrange to remove it.  Contact us on 01452 396396, after 4th April 2011,  to arrange this.
