This section of the website sets out the Local Plan situation for Gloucester. The adopted Local Plan is the Gloucester Local Plan from 1983; with effect from September 2007 a number of policies have been saved. The full document as well the schedule of saved policies can be downloaded by clicking on the relevant link below.
In addition, two Local Plan documents were produced in 1996 to reflect the changes to Gloucester's administrative boundary, made in 1991, which brought Quedgeley (previously in Stroud District) into Gloucester's administration. Although these plans have been considered through a formal public inquiry process and reported on by the Planning Inspectorate, they have not been formally adopted. They are however relevant considerations in the determination of planning applications. The full documents can be downloaded by clicking on the relevant link below.
In 2000, the Council began consulting on a new Local Plan for Gloucester. This Local Plan reached the Second Stage Deposit Draft in 2002, and following this, was adopted by the Council for development control purposes. The full documents can be downloaded by clicking on the relevant links below.
The City Council is now working on a new Local Development Framework for Gloucester|.

Please note: The online Proposals Map is a combination of the First Stage Deposit Local Plan (2001) and the Second Deposit Stage 2002. As such there are differences between this online version and the hard copy maps produced in 2001. The list of policies you will see for any location is always complete, but at some zoom levels not all policy boundaries will be visible.
