Green Wheeled Bin (collected fortnightly)

This is a chargeable service at a cost of £36 per bin per year.

if you are receiving Housing or Council Tax Benefits, then the cost is reduced to £18 per year.  However, you must provide your Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit reference number.

Once you have signed up, the service is continuous unless cancelled.  An invoice will be sent annually.

Remember:

  • Gloucester City Council has a closed bin policy, so your bin should be presented, on the kerbside on the day of collection, by 7am, with the lid closed. 
  • Any additional bags left next to the bin will not be collected by the crew.
  • To remove your bin, from the kerbside, at the end of the collection day

Is the service available to all householders?

The service is available for those properties where the wheeled bin can be safely stored away from the highway.  If you think your property may have access problems, please call or email us.

Preferred payment method

In order to reduce costs and to ensure continued service, we are recommending customers sign up to Direct Debit payments.

Direct Debits can be set up for one payment annually or 6 monthly instalments.  You will receive confirmation of the dates for collection of payment.

As a thank you, all Direct Debit customers (including existing Direct Debit customers) will be entered into a monthly draw from October 2012 to September 2013 for a £50 gift voucher.  Terms and Conditions for the monthly prize draw.|

Other ways to pay for the Garden Waste Service

  • By phone (01452 396 396) - for both new applications and paying an invoice, have your credit / debit card or bank details ready.
  • By post:

    • By cheque, new applications - complete a Cheque Application form, then send it to us along with your cheque.
    • By cheque, paying an invoice - write the invoice number and account reference number on the back of your cheque and send it to us.
    • By direct debit - for both new applications and paying an invoice, download and complete a Direct Debit Bank Instruction and an Application form and send them to us.
  • In person at Herbert Warehouse Reception

    • New application - ask at reception
    • Paying an invoice - pay at the kiosk in reception

Please Note:
If using a credit card, there will be a surcharge of 1.8%, which will add 65p per bin to the total amount.  If you are in receipt of Housing or Council Benefit, an extra 32p will be added, per bin, to the total amount.
