British Tourism Week 2011 is now over for another year.

British Tourism Week aims to raise local, regional, national and international awareness of the size, value and importance of Britain's £115 billion visitor economy.
Tourism is our 5th largest industry, our 3rd largest export earner and employs directly or indirectly around 2.6 million people.
The organisers of British Tourism Week wanted to find the 'Faces of British Tourism' to add to their publicity material. These faces represent the 'Best of Britain'. A member of the team at Gloucester Tourist Information Centre was selected as one of these faces and will appear alongside others representing the tourism industry.
Gloucester Tourist Information Centre will be hosting a range of events throughout the week including:

Book Signing - Lyn Cinderey, the author of Paranormal Gloucester will be signing copies of her popular haunted book. Only £7.99 throughout the week.

Open Afternoon - Come along and talk to members of staff at Gloucester Tourist Information Centre, find out what we do and the value of tourism to Gloucester.

Gloucester Tourist Information Centre will have a presence at the
University of Gloucestershire Sustainable Tourism Awareness Exhibition. The exhibition will showcase the centres 'green credentials' and the work we have done over the last 3 years to become more environmentally friendly.

Friday 18th March from 2.00pm - 3.00pm
Gloucester MP Richard Graham will be visiting Gloucester Tourist Information Centre to spend an 'Hour in the Life of a Tourism Assistant'. Richard Graham will be behind the counter at the Tourist Information Centre working with the members of staff to see what the Tourist Infomation Centre has to offer and the services available.
