Paying Penalty Charge Notices

       

Instructions for Payment:

1.  Payment of the Penalty Charge can be made by the following methods:

  • By paying on-line. This is a secure site.
  • By ringing the touchtone telephone payment line on 0845 1556000, available 24 hours.
  • By ringing the telephone payment line on 01452 396723 after 1pm. 
  • By post addressed to The Cashiers, Gloucester City Council, Herbert Warehouse, The Docks, Gloucester GL1 2EQ.
  • By personal visit to the above address.

2. If you wish to pay the lesser charge, payment should be made no later than the fourteenth day following the day on which the penalty charge was incurred, except that when the Council Offices are closed on the fourteenth day, payment may be made on the next full day on which the Council Offices are open. After that day, the full penalty charge will be due. PLEASE NOTE IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THE PAYMENT IS RECEIVED WITHIN THE STATED TIMESCALE. THE CITY COUNCIL CANNOT ACCEPT LIAIBILITY FOR POSTAL DELAYS OR NON-DELIVERY. NO EXCEPTIONS CAN BE MADE.

3. Payment by post should be sent to the Council Offices at the above address. Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to Gloucester City Council and crossed "Account Payee Only" and the penalty charge number written on the reverse. If you pay by cheque and do not require a receipt, please detach the counterfoil portion of the account and return it with your remittance. If a receipt is required, the whole account must be produced intact at the time of payment. If the bottom part of the counterfoil is not returned with your payment or penalty charge number written on the reverse of the cheque, this will cause delay in processing your fine.
