Gloucester City Council is backing a campaign to get half a million people out and about cleaning up their local communities in March 2017.
As part of its support for the country’s biggest-ever community clear up, Gloucester City Council is seeking volunteers to take part in an organised litter-pick and clean events across the City.
Our ‘Spring Clean’ in the City Centre will take place on 3rd March and Volunteers will be meeting outside the Guildhall on Eastgate Street between 10:00am to 3:00 pm.
We are hoping to encourage volunteers to join us for as long, or as little, as they can between those hours. We will be providing equipment, but please advise anyone taking part to wear suitable clothing and footwear.
If you, as a community/voluntary organisation or business, would like to develop your own mini project on the day (in the City Centre or within your own neighbourhood), do make contact to let us know, so that we could link your project to the 'Great British Spring Clean' initiative (www.greatbritishspringclean.org.uk) and provide you with as much assistance as possible.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to come together to clean up our City Centre or your neighbourhoods, and show how much pride we all have in our City.
It would be a great help if you could fill out the attached registration forms, either for
businesses or community/voluntary organisations, with the names and contacts of people offering to help and return it to us before the event so we can get off to a quick start on the day.
If anyone has any special skills, or restrictions, please let us know on the registration form.
If you would like to be involved please return the registration forms no later than Wednesday 1st March to:
Ismael.Rhyman@gloucester.gov.uk or send to Ismael Rhyman, Gloucester City Council, Herbert Warehouse, Gloucester Docks, Gloucester. GL1 2EQ. Telephone 01452 396784.
