Christmas entertainment highlights

There will be many events happening throughout the city during the Christmas festival period.

If you would like a list of religious celebrations, events and activities taking place in Gloucester, please visit the Tourist Information Centre or call 01452 396572. These include Gloucester Cathedral's Christmas services and special events, The Picturedrome's great pantomime, Christmas shows for all ages at the Guildhall, performances at the Kings Theatre and lots more.

Open Air Ice Rink

Gloucester’s popular open air ice rink returns to the city for 2009. Enjoy a festive skating session on our decorated rink, and enjoy warming food and drink at the adjacent ice café. The rink will open on Saturday 29th November with a special family fun day featuring live music, climbing wall, clowns, magic, face painting and lots more.

A Christmas Celebration - The Meningitis Trust Carol Concert

Featuring Cotswold Male Voice Choir, Gloucester Salvation Army Band, Cleeve School Senior Choir, Shimmering flutes

Soul Destroyers

The ultimate Christmas party night, with live music from this 13-piece party band, performing the best pop, Motown, rock and party tunes, plus guest band and DJs.

Great fun for all the family! The hit new blockbuster film on the big screen, followed by a great disco featuring hits from all three HSM films, plus Hannah Montana and lots more!

The Big New Year's Eve Laugh Café

The funniest New Year’s Eve night out in Gloucestershire! Three top stand-up comics, hot party buffet, glass of bubbly and late, late disco to see in 2009!

Christmas Entertainment in Eastgate Street

Local bands and choirs will be performing by our new Christmas tree outside the Guildhall in Eastgate Street on Thursdays and Sundays. These include:-

Thursday 4th December, Tredworth Junior School & Coney Hill Primary School, performing from 4.30pm until 5.30pm

Sunday 7th December, Flowers Youth Band, performing from 2pm until 4pm

Thursday 11th December, Heron Primary School, performing from 4.30pm until 5.30pm, then Robinswood Primary School, performing from 6pm until 7pm

Sunday 14th December, Gloucester Salvation Army Band, performing from 2pm until 4pm

Thursday 18th December, Longlevens Infant School, performing from 4.30pm until 5pm

Sunday 21st December, Gloucester Gladiators Scout Band, performing from 2pm until 3pm
