2009
Please check back later in the year for information about our 2009 Christmas Parade and lights illumination.
Sunday 23rd November 2008
Gloucester's Christmas Lights were switched on as our magical Festive Parade wound its way through the city streets. This spectacular procession was led by the one and only Father Christmas and his real-life reindeer, with seasonal live music, amazing costumes, brightly coloured inflatables decorated with lights, our special Christmas lights switch-on guests and fun yuletide street entertainers.
The Festive Parade started in Westgate Street at 5pm, and headed towards The Cross and turning right into Southgate Street, before turning right into Gloucester Docks via the main entrance next to the Tall Ship, it then finished outside the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum.
There was live entertainment in The Docks from 5.30pm, with Severn Sound introducing the one and only Christopher Biggins, winner of "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here 2007", and Class Of 08 a high energy, all-singing, all-dancing tribute to "High School Musical".
