15th May 09 - All aboard for Tall Ships Tour

Tours of Tall ShipsAt this year’s Tall Ships Festival visitors will be able to avoid the queues and get the low-down on the ships themselves with a guided tour by the captain.

For the first time the organisers have arranged small, guided tours of the boats giving intimate details about the history of the ship and the ability to ask any questions to the crew.

Gloucester City Council, Chief Executive, Julian Wain commented: “ So many visitors want to take a look around the ships that sometimes its not possible for everyone to have their questions answered.

“Giving visitors the opportunity to beat the crowds and take a close look around the ships will give those who want it the chance to have their own private viewing of these historic ships.”

The tours will be available on the Kaskelot, Earl of Pembroke and the Pheonix and will take place on Saturday and Sunday morning at 9.30 and 10.45.  Places are limited, to avoid disappointment you can purchase advance tickets by phoning 01452 396572 or visiting http://www.gloucestertallships.co.uk/ .
