Senior councillors and officers will be taking to the road in January to get the views of local residents on the council’s spending plans.
As part of its ‘You talk, we’ll listen’ budget consultation exercise a series of road shows will be taking place across the city.
It is an opportunity for residents to comment on ways in which the council can make further savings or increase its income in the new financial year that starts next April.
It’s also a chance for the council to explain how it provides value for money by listing more than 50 services that cost an average of just 50p per day.
The road shows will be taking place at:
-
Asda, Gloucester January 6th 10am-2pm
-
Morrisons, Abbeydale January 9th 10am-2pm
-
Tesco, Quedgeley January 10th 10am-2pm
-
Gloucester College January 12th 10am-2pm
-
Eastgate shopping centre January 13th 10am-2pm
-
Kings Walk shopping centre January 14th 10am-2pm
Surveys can also be filled in online at www.gloucester.gov.uk|
Councillor Debbie Llewellyn, cabinet member for performance and resources, commented: “ I hope people will take the opportunity to speak with us at these road shows or visit the council website and fill in our survey.
“ In these difficult financial times we have done well to find new ways of working and to make substantial savings. But there is still more to do. So it is important that we hear from our residents and take their views into account.
