This Planning Brief sets out the Council's preferred approach for the development of the 'Greater Blackfriars' area of the City, and forms part of the emerging Local Development Framework (LDF) for Gloucester.
The Planning Brief has been subject to X periods of public consultation. The Planning Brief has now been adopted by the Council as 'interim planning guidance' for the purposes of development control, pending formal adoption as a formal Supplementary Planning Document of the LDF at a later date, with any further, necessary changes made at that stage.
In response to the Planning Brief, the Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company (GHURC) has pruduced, in conjunction with consultants, a Masterplan for the eastern part of the Greater Blackfriars area. This Masterplan has now been endorsed by the City Council and will form a material consideration when determining future proposals in the area.

FORMAL CONSULTATION 2 (August / September 2009)
The Revised Draft Greater Blackfriars Planning Brief was subject to a further six-week period of public consultation between 13th August and 24th September 2009 under Regulation 17 of the Town and Country Planning (LocalDevelopment) (England) Regulations 2004. Comments received to this consultation have been taken into account and amendments made where necessary to the interim adoption version of the document (see above).
