MUSEUMS AT NIGHT EVENTS

This year's events a roaring success!

To coincide with the national 'Museums at Night' festival the Folk Museum and City Museum played host to seperate events during the weekend.  Both events were a huge success, with the City Museum event - the 'Science Spectacular' meeting huge demand and completely selling out before the night.

The evenings saw hands-on potion making, gallery tours, scientific experiments and instant photos at the City Museum, and visitors being part of a large social experiment at the Folk Museum.  To view a selection of photos taken at the Science Spectacular, please follow this link|.

The City and Folk Museums both made it through to the final of the 'Museums at Night' competition, to win a top named contemporary artist for two specially arranged events in May.  Both Museums came in third place after all votes had been counted, and did extremely well to have gotten so far, competing against some of the biggest museums in the country.

Thank you to everyone who supported these events and came along, we have received rave reviews and are very much looking forward to the next evening events - already planned for August!  To be amongst the first to hear about these events make sure you're signed up to our mailing list (click on the link to the left of this page).
