Support for Ukraine

Many Ukrainians live, work and have strong community ties in Gloucester and we are proud that they have chosen to make our City their home. We welcome and support Ukrainians coming to the city through both the Families for Ukraine and Homes for Ukraine schemes. Councillor Richard Cook, leader of Gloucester City Council, said: “The city council wishes to express how saddened we are by the ongoing situation in the Ukraine and that our thoughts are with those people those affected by these tragic events. We know that our residents will be deeply worried for the safety of their friends, family, loved ones and people of the Ukraine and we truly hope that peace returns to the region as soon as possible and we can bring an end to the senseless loss of life from this unjust military action.”

Gloucester City Council stands with the people of Ukraine and we are doing all we can to support Ukrainians who are having to leave their homes following the invasion.
