It’s party time!

After the washout that was Gloucester Festival 2007 (the floods came the day before the festival started, and almost everything was cancelled), we’re determined to bring the city a fortnight to remember for all the right reasons this year.

Get ready for two weeks and three weekends of entertainment and activities, most of it free, for people of all ages and cultures across Gloucester and beyond.

As always, festival fortnight was launched with the traditional carnival procession. Now in its 72nd year, the procession brings our city’s communities together for a bright, colourful and fun-packed spectacle which parades through the city streets.

This year's procession was won by Robinswood Church (Best of the Best & Young People), Quedgeley Scout and Guide Group (Children), Friends of Gloucester Shopmobility (General), The Ultimate Party Shop (Commercial) and Coadycrew (performers).

Over the next two weeks there’ll be a huge funfair in Gloucester Park, big free music and family festivals, fun days, street performers, comedy, cinema, theatre, exhibitions, sport and art and craft activities and one of the biggest and best firework shows you’ll see anywhere on the planet!

Remember, most of it’s free and there’s something for everyone, so look out for the guide, tell your family and friends, and let’s get together for a two week celebration!
