From Gloucester Rail Station and Gloucester Bus Station. This guide is designed to be easy as well as entertaining, especially for children, (but not only!). If you are bringing children to visit the Folk Museum with you why not let them show you the way! Also if you have access to the web via your mobile phone you can view this "live"*.

Time: 0.00 minutes
You are just outside Gloucester Rail Station, look right and this is what you will see, image - 1. Walk towards the Station Hotel keeping on the right.

Now you will have to cross two crossings, a Puffin Crossing on the dual carriageway (Bruton Way) and the Zebra crossing immediately after, image- 2

Time: 50 seconds
You should have seen the Bus Station sign on the top of the building in front of you by this time. A few steps ahead from the zebra crossing turn left at the corner of the building and you will be in the Bus Station's territory, image - 3.
N/A There will be buses on the right and shops on your left side. Keep walking straight ahead towards what it look like a little "tunnel", image - 4.

Time: 50 seconds
Coming out of the "tunnel" look on the right and you will see the Taxi Rank and a large tree, walk round it to reach the zebra crossing, see picture of the Taxi Rank, image - 5.

Time: 2 mins & 30 secs
Keep walking on the pavement all the way up between the local bus stops on the left and shops on the right until you reach the end of the street where you will see exactly what is shown on image - 7.
N/A Turn right and you are now on Eastgate Street. Do not forget to have a peep down on the Roman Excavations. Walk down Eastgate Street keeping your eyes on 14th century St Michael's Tower straight ahead, image - 8.

Time: 2 min & 30 secs
You are now on the Gloucester Cross (from 13 century, it is the central place where the “gate” streets meet), Image - 9.
N/A Straight over the Cross and you are now in Westgate Street, historically the most important, presently the prettiest street in Gloucester! Beautiful old buildings on both sides. Image - 10.

Time: 3 min & 30 secs
Walk straight down to the end of the pedestrian zone and when you are there do not forget to look right to see the front of the magnificent Gloucester Cathedral, image - 11.
N/A and if you look on the left you will see the classical Shire Hall Building, image - 12.

Time: 1 minute
Keep walking downhill until you reach the curb of the road going left. Now you should see the pub on the left and St Nicholas Church on the right, Image - 13.

Keeping right you will pass Dick Whittington's Pub until you are in the front of St Nicholas's church, right across the road is the Folk Museum.
