Gloucester BID Ballot 2022
Gloucester Business Improvement District (BID) is a business-led partnership which is created through a ballot process to deliver additional services to local businesses. It is a defined area in which a levy is charged on all business rate payers in addition to the business rates bill. This levy is used to develop projects which will benefit businesses in the local area.
Gloucester BID submitted a proposal to ballot for a second 5 year term, which was approved by the Council and a ballot of eligible businesses took place from 30 May to 30 June 2022. All eligible voter businesses were sent a ballot pack to cast a vote either in favour of renewing the BID for a second term or of ceasing its operations.
Votes were counted after the ballot closed on Thursday 30 June and a majority of those voting voted in favour of renewing the BID for a second term, both in terms of number of votes cast and by aggregate rateable value, therefore the proposal has been successful. Full details of the outcome of the ballot can be found in the Declaration of Result.
