UK Parliamentary Election
A UK Parliamentary Election is scheduled to take place on Thursday 12 December 2019
Notices relating to the election can be found below.
The nomination period begins at 10am on Monday 11 November 2019 and ends at 4pm on Thursday 14 November 2019. Please call 01452 396 127 to arrange an appointment for collection and submission of nominations.
To vote in the upcoming UK general election you must:
- Be on the electoral register;
- Be 18 or over on the day of the election;
- Be a British, Irish or qualifying Commonwealth citizen;
- Be resident at an address in the UK (or a British citizen living abroad who has been registered to vote in the UK in the last 15 years);
- Not be legally excluded from voting.
The deadline to register to vote in this election is midnight on Tuesday 26 November. You can register to vote here
If you think you may be unable to vote in person on 12 December, you can vote by post or by proxy.
The deadline to apply to vote by post is 5pm on Tuesday 26 November 2019. An application form can be found here. Your completed form can be posted to Democratic and Electoral Services, Gloucester City Council, PO Box 3252, Gloucester GL1 9FW or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
A proxy vote means someone can vote on your behalf. Anyone can act as your proxy provided they're registered to vote and allowed to vote in the same type of election.
