Gloucester City Council Elections 2020

Election of Councillors to Gloucester City Council will take place on Thursday 7 May 2020.

British, Irish and Commonwealth, and European Union citizens can vote in this election.

The deadline to register to vote in these elections is midnight on Tuesday 21 April 2020. If you're already registered to vote you do not need to do so again, unless you have moved address. You can register online. It only takes a few minutes, and you will need to provide your National Insurance number.

The deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm on Wednesday 22 April 2020. Postal vote application

The deadline to apply for a proxy vote, where someone votes at your polling station on your behalf because you are unable to go in person, is 5pm on Wednesday 29 April 2020. Proxy vote application.

You must be registered to vote first before you can apply for a postal or proxy vote.

A briefing for prospective candidates and agents will be hosted by Gloucester City Council in the Civic Suite, 3rd Floor North Warehouse, The Docks, GL1 2EP on Tuesday 17 March 2020 at 6pm. Please get in touch if you would like to attend.

Nominations will open at 10am on 30 March 2020 and will close at 4pm on 8 April 2020.

Nomination packs will be available from early March.
