Gloucester's Shopmobility customers drive expansion

Gloucester Shopmobility is set to expand its opening times to meet demand after customers welcomed the return of the service.
Shopmobility reopened in July after lockdown as a reduced, three day service.
But following a positive response from shoppers it will now operate four days a week.
From Monday, September 14, it will open on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
On reopening staff have worked to make the service Covid secure and safe for its customers and staff.
They've also changed the opening times, hire terms and queueing system - including drop off and collections bays - to ensure customers can follow social distancing rules.
Sanitising stations have been made available and the team has been provided with the relevant PPE and safety measures, including a scooter cleaning area where scooters are cleaned at the beginning of each day and on return.
Customers need to book at least 24 hours in advance as spaces are limited with collection slots staggered every 15 minutes.
Councillor Jennie Watkins, Cabinet Member for Communities and Neighbourhoods at Gloucester City Council, said: “Shopmobility provides accessibility to those residents and visitors who need help getting around the businesses and attractions in the city. I’m delighted that the response has been so positive and we are able to expand the service to accommodate people’s requests.”
