To mark the release of the film, Peter Rabbit 2 – The Runaway - Visit Gloucester is organising Glossy the Rabbit’s Book Trail, for families to explore the city featured in the new film.

The trail which starts tomorrow (21 May) supported by Gloucester BID and Gloucester Guildhall celebrates the famous rabbit with links to Gloucester, and the new film that shows off several local landmarks.

Glossy the Rabbit was in a mad dash, she was already running late to get to Gloucester’s Guildhall in time to watch the long awaited Peter Rabbit 2 – The Runaway film! In her haste to get there in time to buy some carrot flavoured popcorn before the film started, she didn’t notice that all of her books had fallen out of her bag and were scattered across the City – oh no!!! Glossy needs everyone’s help to find her books …

The trail is designed to promote Gloucester to both residents and visitors alike, with locations spread throughout the city it will showcase the city’s fabulous businesses and attractions.

All 23 books from the Beatrix Potter Collection will be hidden in venues with shopfronts or windows.

Participants can either download a Trail Form from Visit Gloucester or collect a form from the Tourist Information Centre, located in the Museum of Gloucester.

By following the map provided, avid book hunters will need to visit each venue and find the lost book, noting the title of the book that is hidden or displayed at that location.

Three lucky winners will be randomly selected. The first prize is a £50 Gloucester Gift Card and a family ticket to see Peter Rabbit 2 at Gloucester’s Guildhall!

Philip Walker, Head of Culture for Gloucester City Council, said: “We are really excited about launching this trail, especially as we were able to tie it in with the release of Peter Rabbit 2. Gloucester has such strong links with Beatrix Potter, it seemed like a perfect opportunity to create a fun and free event for all, whilst driving Visit Gloucester’s key focus of encouraging more residents and visitors back to the City, to support our businesses and attractions.”
