Waste and recycling updates
Unfortunately several of our staff members are having to self isolate and this is affecting our recycling and green waste services. We’re working hard to keep these services running but we currently have a partial green waste service and there may be delays to recycling collections. We're also affected by the national shortage of HGV drivers; a topic you may have seen in the national press. These are unprecedented times and we’re sorry but these circumstances are out of our control.
To keep the green waste service running we’ve moved staff from non essential services to help but priority must be given to black bin waste and recycling services. We are not currently issuing any extension to service but we will keep this under review if the situation persists longer term.
We ask residents to put their garden waste bins out on normal collection day and we will do our best to empty them. If they are not emptied on the scheduled day, please leave them out and they should be emptied the following day.
If recycling collections are missed please leave them out the following day and we will return as soon as we are able.
Waste guidance for people with confirmed or possible coronavirus (COVID-19) infection
Personal waste (such as used tissues) and disposable cleaning cloths need to be stored securely within disposable rubbish bags. These bags should be placed into a second bag, tied securely and kept separate from other waste in the house in which you are self-isolating. Keep aside for at least 72 hours before putting into your usual grey wheelie bin.
Recycling, food and garden waste can be presented as normal.
To assist our crews please continue to sort your recycling. For health and safety reasons and to minimise risk to our crews they will not handle any loose recycling, all item should be in a container supplied by us.

Garden waste collections:
Unfortunately not all garden waste collections have been completed today.
If your bin was due today (05.08.2021) and has not been collected please leave it out as the crews will be returning tomorrow (06.08.2021) to empty them.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Please make sure your Garden Waste bin is presented with a valid sticker. Bins presented without a sticker will not be emptied.
Some communal collections are currently running behind schedule (this includes food waste collections). We will collect as soon as we can.
