We are a dynamic local authority providing essential services to the people of Gloucester.
Our Council Plan
Gloucester City Council has 39 Councillors representing 18 wards (with one, two or three Councillors representing each ward). In May 2024, Gloucester City Council returned a minority-led Liberal Democrat Council. Following this election result, work is now underway to create a new Council Plan to set out the strategic direction of the Council for the next four years.
The new Corporate Plan, which would run from 2024-2028, is currently out for consultation. It has an overarching vision of ‘Putting the heart back into Gloucester’ and the priorities which set out how this vision will be achieved are:
- A vibrant and attractive city that celebrates Gloucester’s unique heritage.
- Inclusive, thriving communities and residents that feel safe, supported and valued.
- An innovative and accountable council focused on providing high-quality, accessible services and facilities.
