Level 3 Development Apprentice

£7.49 per hour for level 3, pay award pending, or National Minimum Wage if this is higher for your age (£8.20 per hour for those aged 21- 24 years and £8.72 per hour for those aged 25 and above).

The City Growth and Delivery team provides a range of services to support the development and growth of the City, including town planning, heritage, regeneration and economic development. You’ll work closely with the manager of the Cathedral Quarter Heritage Action Zone to bring about the regeneration of the historic Westgate Street, but you’ll also support various teams to provide a broad range of development services.

As well as having several core duties you’ll regularly support one off projects and initiatives, such as organising exhibitions, doing research, and supporting meetings. This will give you the opportunity to focus on one or more subjects of interest to you and provide a solid starting point for a career in the development industry.

Here are a few of the duties that you’ll regularly perform: 

    • Dealing with customer queries and providing advice to the public
    • Maintaining planning files and databases
    • Researching the history of the city and individual properties
    • Doing surveys and health checks, and preparing presentations
    • Maintaining websites
    • Putting up site notices
    • Accountancy support, like raising purchase orders and setting up new suppliers
    • Taking photos of development sites and buildings
