Housing monitoring
Each year Gloucester City Council monitors the number of housing completions and records the amount of land remaining for development. Effective monitoring helps to identify whether Local Plan policies are successful in delivering the housing needed to meet the Structure Plan Housing Targets for Gloucestershire.

Employment land monitoring
Each year Gloucester City Council monitors the amount of available, committed, and the planned employment land and its associated take-up in the City. Effective employment land monitoring helps to identify whether Development Plan policies are successful in delivering land needed to meet the Structure Plan Employment Land Targets for Gloucestershire.

Annual monitoring
The Council is required to publish an Annual Monitoring Report or AMR. The AMR looks at two main issues, the progress which the Council has made in preparing the LDF, and secondly the extent to which its policies are having an impact.
