Subject Access Request

Ask for personal information we may hold about you

You can make a subject access request (SAR) by asking us for copies of the information we hold about you. This may include housing benefit records, employment records or correspondence you have had with the council.

You can apply online for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Before you start

You will need proof of your identity, such as a passport or driving licence. If you do not have photo ID, you can use two other documents instead, such as a utility bill, bank statement or birth certificate.

If you’re asking on behalf of someone else, you will also need their written permission, such as a signed letter or power of attorney, and proof of their identity.

We will reply within one month of receiving your request.

Make a Freedom of Information (FOI) request if you would like to request non-personal information held by the council.
