Staff will only handle cash using disposable gloves which should be disposed of after each point of contact.

Hire Period
Customers will be able to hire scooters for a maximum of 3 hours and will have scheduled arrival/return slots to adhere to social distancing. Customers will be required to arrive for their slot 5 minutes before the hire period to assist with training and sanitising.

There will be a maximum of 18 scooters available for hire each day.

Arrivals
On arrival please adhere to the signage and floors stickers to follow the new queueing system that has been designed by our staff to keep everyone safe whilst the service is in operation. There will be a sanitising station that must be used and please do not be alarmed when our staff ask you a couple of questions prior to hire. This is to ensure we have taken all the necessary requirements to keep yourself and our staff safe. We strongly urge all our customers to wear facemasks when visiting the service.

Shopmobility Gloucester has always been a friendly helpful service offering support to those who need it most. The new measures will take some time to adjust too, however you can still expect the same helpful friendly service you have always enjoyed.

Returns
You will be given a full briefing of the new returns procedure on arrival and shown the cordoned off return section at the side of the forecourt, this will ensure that arrivals and departures adhere to social distancing.

A returns box will be available for customers to deposit the scooter keys and the scooter will remain in the returns section for cleaning by staff.

Please return your scooter to Shopmobility by the return time allocated.

Cleaning
There is a staff only scooter cleaning area in the forecourt. Each scooter will be cleaned at the beginning of the day and on return using hot soapy water and sanitiser. It is a requirement that all customers sanitise their hands before and after entering the forecourt.

Training
You will receive training to use the equipment on loan until both you and the Shopmobility staff are confident you’re in control and happy. We will spend as much time as you need in training and entirely at your own pace. Even if you have used a scooter before, all vehicles are different so please don’t be offended when we show you how it works. As a city council service, we have to make sure you are a safe user. If you feel particularly nervous, we will spend longer with you and you may come back for as many training sessions as you like before you take the vehicle out.
