Ask for Angela

Ask for Angela is the national scheme that helps anyone who is feeling vulnerable on a night out to get the support they need.

Sometimes people can find themselves in a situation that isn’t safe or that makes them feel uncomfortable. In premises that operate Ask for Angela, people can ask discreetly for help from a member of staff if this happens.

Ask for Angela training means staff follow the right procedure to support and assist people through uncomfortable situations with no fuss, so they don’t need to worry about it causing a scene.

The assistance staff might give could be reuniting someone with a friend, helping them to a taxi, or if it’s a serious safety issue, alerting venue security and/or the police.

We would strongly encourage all operators of licensed premises to implement the Ask for Angela scheme in their venue and make sure that staff receive suitable training to be able to help people who need it.
