Planning applications now available online

Planning applicants can now follow the progress of their planning applications online after a key part of the council’s online planning system was restored.

The step means that most of the council’s systems that were affected by last year’s cyber incident are now available.

Although the council’s planning portal wasn’t taken offline by the incident and people could still submit applications, the system that allowed residents to view documents, submit comments and track progress was affected.

This latest development means that people can now find out progress updates for any newly submitted applications and view historic planning applications details online.

Further adjustments have yet to be made to the system however, and residents should continue to submit any comments by email.

Currently users are unable to view associated documents for applications made before January 2022, which the council is working hard to address as a priority.  

Applications submitted between January 2022 and now, will continue to be available on the council website.
