Could you help shape Gloucester’s cultural calendar?

Published
Creatives across Gloucester are invited to apply for funding aimed at launching new ideas and helping existing events grow in a bid to boost the city’s cultural calendar.

Together Gloucester is a three-year, city-wide initiative that puts decisions about cultural investment in the hands of the community.

This latest call for applications comes as the list of 14 successful applicants are announced from the scheme’s third round of funding.

The successful events and activities include a series of circus workshops, hip hop and street dance sessions, a Bollywood club for the over-60s, and a skate park.

New applications are now open for:

  • One of four £1,000 grants to test out new cultural ideas or grow existing activities across Gloucester.
  • Up to £3,000 for performances or activities to be held in King’s Square, a space specifically designed to host large-scale public events.

Individuals and organisations may apply but all funded events or activities must take place between August this year and March 2026.

Councillor Caroline Courtney, Cabinet member for Culture and Leisure at Gloucester City Council, said: “We’ve been blown away by the amount of interest we’ve had and the high standard of applications. There is a huge appetite in Gloucester for culture and the arts and through Together Gloucester we’re hoping that we can not only open up funding to a wider range of people but also to give exciting new ideas a chance to grow. I would urge anyone who has an idea or an event that really adds to our cultural calendar to get in touch.”

The closing date for applications is June 15 – midnight
