Court extends civil injunction following council action on anti-social behaviour
Aisha Ferris, aged 21, has been given an extension to her civil injunction which initially only covered Cheltenham. However, due to her high levels of anti-social and criminal behaviour, it has now been extended to also cover Gloucester.
Morag Gordon, Engagement Officer at Gloucester City Council said: “The extension to the live civil injunction makes it clear that Gloucester City Council will not tolerate anyone coming from other areas of the county intending to continue their high levels of anti-social and criminal behaviours.
All behaviours of this nature will be robustly dealt with, when anti-social behaviour continues and there is no meaningful engagement with outreach services where necessary enforcement will be used”.
The court ordered that: “The Defendant, Miss Aisha (aka Sophia) Ferris, is forbidden (whether by herself or by instructing or encouraging or permitting any other person) from:
1. Engaging in conduct which causes or is capable of causing alarm or harassment or distress to any person within the Borough of Cheltenham, the boundary of Gloucester (as outlined blue on the map attached)
2. Using or threatening to use violence towards any person within the Borough of Cheltenham, the boundary of Gloucester (as outlined blue on the map attached)
3. Entering or being in any Daysafe Premises in Cheltenham, Gloucester as per the attached list;
4. Being in possession of an open vessel and/or can of alcohol in a public place within the town of Cheltenham, save for within licensed premises;
5. Entering or being in Quilter House, Grove Street, Cheltenham, GL50 3LZ at any time;
6. Entering or being in the area shaded orange on Map 2 at any time;
The court further ordered that the Defendant MUST
7. Attend and engage with Change, Grow, Live at least once a week to address her issues with alcohol”.
The Court further ordered that “A power of arrest is attached to Paragraphs 1 AND 2 AND 3 AND 4 AND 5 AND 6 of this order whereby any Constable may under the power given in, s.4 ASB Crime & Policing Act 2014 arrest without warrant the Defendant if the Constable has reasonable cause for suspecting that the Defendant is in breach of this order.
This order and the power of arrest shall remain in force until 23rd August 2026 at 4.00 p.m. unless before then it is revoked by a further order of the court.”
